A compact 0 gauge layout by Mike Perry
This award winning compact "0 gauge" industrial layout is based on a Midland tar distillery during the 1930s. The scenic section is only 4 ft (1200 mm) long, with a 2 ft 3 inch (675 mm) sector plate / fiddle yard, yet can provide plenty of operating interest. Tar distillers (several are active today) make from coal tar many common products including road tars, Naphtha (white spirt), solvents, creosote, disinfectant, and protective coatings. The stills can be seen glowing; if evening falls lights can come on, and welding repair work take place!
